In 1970 Ron Hill was the first ever British man to win the Boston Marathon, win gold at the Commonwealth Games as well as competing in two Olympic marathons.

Ron Hill had a unique combination of first hand running knowledge with a career as a textile chemist. In September 1970, Ron Hill set up the Ronhill Sports company.

Ron Hill was the first person to use synthetic fabrics in sportswear and invented a lot of the fabrics that today’s latest products are modern generations of.
